A delegation of government officials from the Republic of Korea recently travelled to the United States to study several public works projects, including the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) Anacostia Waterfront Initiative (AWI). The delegation was comprised of 18 senior officials from the Transportation, Environment, and Urban Planning Departments within the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
By this time next year, District of Columbia pedestrians, bicyclists, and nature enthusiasts will have a new way to enjoy being closer to the Anacostia River, its surrounding natural beauty, and more easily connect with neighborhoods along the river.
