Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge Swing Span Opening Sunday, May 19, 2013

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting routine testing on the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge (South Capitol Street Bridge) swing span on Sunday, May 19. During opening and closing operations, the swing span is lowered and then turned or “swung” around in order to allow water traffic to pass.

On Thursday, May 23, a Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBA) Compliance Workshop for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firms and other small businesses is being hosted by the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Supportive Services Program, in partnership with U.S Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Enforcement Policy, Wage and Hour Division, DC Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the 11th Street Bridge Project Management Team.
